Short comment on the USA Presidential Election 2008
The climate related policies presented in the 2008 USA Presidential Election unsurprising are no where near strong enough to prevent a run away climate change event.
Of the climate policies of the two presidential hopefuls Obama and McCain, Obama has the strongest, though in a number of key areas such as targets McCain matches Obama exactly to the point where the impression is given that someone made a tactical decision to do so.

What would a serious policy on Climate Change look like?
Acceptance
Acceptance of the scientific conclusion that today's climate change is largely human caused. Members who are publicly skeptical about the human link to climate change should be expelled from the party.
Priority and Policy
Climate change should be seen as the number one issue that takes precedent over and guides all other policy. Parties should have a dedicated climate spokes person, ideally this should be the leader.
